Boulia does not have a large shopping center, but there are some smaller ones that can cater to basic needs. The Boulia Plaza is the main spot for shopping and it has a small newsagent, post office, hardware store, and some other small shops.

For those who want more options, traveling to Mount Isa city, which is about 300 km away, is the best option.

Retail Outlets

There are a few retail outlets in Boulia that sell clothing, footwear, and some household items. Boulia Outback Store is the most popular one, carrying a wide range of Western-style clothing including jeans, hats, boots, belts, and some souvenirs.

For those who want more options in clothing, there are a few retail outlets that sell women's clothing as well. Infinity Emporium and Rosevale Cottage are both small stores that specialise in women's clothing and accessories, these stores also have some small home decorations.

Supermarkets

There is only one supermarket in Boulia, which is IGA. The store carries basic food items, fresh produce, meats, and some grocery items such as toiletries and some home supplies. It is a good option for those who want to buy their groceries without having to travel outside town.

For those who want more variety and have specific dietary needs, Coles and Woolworths in Mount Isa City are better options for shopping. But it's important to note that it is a long distance away, and there are no supermarkets in between.

Markets

Boulia does not hold regular markets, but during special events such as the annual Boulia Camel Races, there are vendors selling food, clothing, and souvenirs. These are great opportunities to mingle with locals and experience local culture.

For more regular markets, Mount Isa has a Farmer's Market every Saturday in the CBD and Townview Market is open every Sunday for local produce and handmade items.
